Maui is one of the most beautiful places on earth, with a unique culture and way of life that enriches the lives of everyone on the island.
I’ve met so many incredible people over the years who are working to protect and nurture Maui’s special magic. They’re my friends and neighbors—we’ve spent long nights talking story around the fire, and traveling around the island to understand its needs (and how we can help).
Here are a few of the ways I’m serving my community here on Maui:
Fun activities for special needs kids and their families
The great people at Imua Family Services, one of the region’s top early childhood education nonprofits, are some of my closest friends on Maui. We’ve teamed up for some incredible family fun days at the Stable Road property, where special needs children and their parents can come to make friends and strengthen community bonds.
Community resources and services
Together with my friend Michael Capponi and his fantastic team at Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), I’m committed to helping Maui rebuild after the devastating wildfires of 2023. Our focus goes beyond short term relief (like cash cards and power tools). We want to help build a bridge to Maui’s future by providing critical resources like clean water, education, and housing.
Environmental preservation and restoration
Maui’s beaches and wetlands are some of the most precious ecosystems on earth. They’re also at risk from pollution and overdevelopment, which is why I love working with partners like Love the Sea and the Hawai’i Land Trust for beach cleanups and park infrastructure updates.
